The Code Book

by Simon Singh

The Code Book is a really good guide to the history of cryptography from the early Arab code-breakers to today's quantum cryptography and everything in between. If you like spies and codes, you'll love The Code Book. It is dense and long, so you may have to go back and reread a paragraph in order to fully understand it, but, in the end, it's worth it. I really liked The Code Book and would recommend it to everybody.
